Class Description:

Understanding the Existing Structure by Glenn Mathewson will describe the various and unexpected ways a new deck can affect the structure it serves. Mechanical and electrical systems, egress windows and exterior wall coverings, for example, must all be understood and evaluated before construction begins. Understanding the Existing Structure will get you thinking outside of the box, and understanding how a deck is about much more than just the deck.
