NADRA Atlanta Chapter Meeting Re-Cap
February 2015
The year started off with a successful meeting this February despite power outages and ice storms in the area with the first Atlanta NADRA chapter meeting of 2015 on February 17th held at the Ivy in Buckhead. There were 36 members and guests in attendance. Thank you Nyloboard and Joey Matthews for sponsoring this meeting!
During the meeting we caught up on the minutes from the last two meetings due to postponing minutes in December at our Christmas Dinner. We were able to get an update from some exciting things going on at our National level from national board member Bobby Parks. Time was spent discussing our upcoming chapter meeting schedule for the year and planning for our Deck for a Soldier project as well as our first annual Golf Tournament. Joey Matthews will be chairing the build for Deck for a Soldier and is currently looking for an optimal candidate that we can serve. Mike Reasons gave a brief overview of the details for the golf tournament on June 15th at Brookfield Country Club. Currently we are looking for hole sponsors from vendors and companies who want to participate. This will be our main fundraising effort for 2015.
Financial Progress as of 1/31/15:
- Income: $0
- Expenses: $600.20
- Balance: $3104.79
A special thanks to Joey Matthews of Nyloboard for sponsoring this month’s meeting. Joey gave an interesting presentation on the history of the company as well as what makes Nyloboard unique in the market of alternative decking. He also reviewed the product line and its features and benefits.
Brian Pierce of Catalyst Wealth management gave a very practical presentation of some helpful financial tools. He was able to speak to some key action items that each of us should be doing with our financial plans and ways to set our business and family up for success. He also provided leave behind material and some takeaways to follow up on.
Our next meeting will be held on:
- Tuesday – April the 21st at the Ivey in Buckhead.
- Our sponsor for the meeting is Tailorwood and our guest speaker will be from Houzz.
Respectfully Submitted,
James Gunning
