This past March in Clearwater, at the NADRA National+ Deck Awards, we had the opportunity to introduce you to the Legacy Decks Academy.
We’re excited to announce that our Legacy Deck Academy Team will return in March of 2023 with registration opening soon!
The Academy is a game-changing organization that is dedicated to helping professionals in the deck building industry succeed. At the Academy their philosophy is that business doesn’t get easier, you get BETTER. They have a proven system to help build a predictable, profitable, and scalable business. They believe that the fastest path to success is to first focus on building the “BUSINESSMAN/WOMAN before the business PLAN,” by helping to develop the personal skills and characteristics necessary to build a successful business. So, how do they actually go about doing that?
That’s where LDX – the Legacy Day Experience – comes in. LDX is a one-of-a-kind program offered by the Academy that helps participants develop the skills, knowledge, and mindset needed to succeed in both their personal and professional lives. This past October, twenty deck building industry pros got to experience exactly what it looks like to “work on the business man and woman”.
Like so many of us, these men and woman got started in business because they had a passion for designing and creating luxurious outdoor spaces. Only to discover that now that they had to learn how to run a business. To market, sell, manage finances, etc. oh and don’t forget they still have responsibilities to their family as a husband or wife, a father or mother. Not to mention time for themselves to try and stay in shape and healthy so they have the energy required to wear all the hats that this entrepreneur life demands. So how do you put it all together and keep all the plates spinning?
The men and women who entered LDX in October would be challenged like never before. Through a mix of physical evolutions, group challenges, thought-provoking conversations, and interactive trainings, LDX pushed them to their limits and helped them break through the obstacles that have been holding them back. LDX graduates described it as an “intense experience that required an ALL-IN mentality.” This one-of-a-kind program is not for the faint of heart and requires a huge commitment to discipline and results.
During LDX their mental strength, endurance, and determination were tested. LDX helped them see what they are truly capable of and to push past their perceived limitations. The group evolutions tested their leadership skills and ability to work effectively as a team. They had the opportunity to lead and be led, and to learn from the successes and challenges of the other LDX participants. The discussions and trainings challenged their mindset and helped them develop new ways of thinking. They had the opportunity to explore new beliefs and values, and to consider how they are influencing their approach to business.
Overall, LDX is an intense, immersive event that you just have to experience to fully understand. For those who are serious about taking their businesses to the next level, LDX is an opportunity that simply can’t be missed. The program has already helped numerous professionals in the industry achieve amazing results. If you are trying to figure out how to live a more fulfilling and successful life, the Academy provides the tools and support you need to reach your goals.

About Legacy Deck Academy
When we started our very first business in the construction space, we were in over our heads. Chris was trying to lead the business, while he was simultaneously out swinging a hammer on job sites. Every day felt like a new set of crises. We were making good money, but at the expense of our mental health, marriage, and family happiness.
One day we woke up and realized—this wasn’t what we’d signed up for when we decided to become entrepreneurs. We stepped away from our first business to recollect ourselves and reconnect. To make a long story very short, we eventually decided the time had come to start our deck-building business and try this entrepreneurship thing one more time—but this time, we were set on doing it right. We invested heavily in personal and professional development. We learned what it really takes to grow a successful, scalable business—including the intricacies that were unique to the deck-building industry.
Perhaps even more importantly, we invested time, money, and energy into becoming better people. Better partners to each other. Better parents. Better leaders. Better humans.Today, we’re proud to say our deck-building business, Legacy Decks, is thriving. From growing a rockstar team we absolutely adore, to being featured educators at NADRA, THIS is the business we worked and prayed for. So what changed for us? Systems. We had to find and implement a business operating system that made sense for our vision, and we had to build a team who understood and wanted to support that vision. Today, we run Legacy Decks Academy alongside our own deck building business, because we’re RIDICULOUSLY passionate about helping deck builders leverage their passions to create thriving, profitable, prosperity-giving businesses.
