The ultimate backyard is what the homeowners wanted, the design and results exceeded those desires. The deck was restructured to have an open concept and expanded to give an open view of the pool by installing frameless glass illuminated panel railings. Added motorized screens for the deck and the underneath area has a ceiling to match the decking, along with new recessed heaters. The kitchen area is covered with a louvered roof pergola incorporated with a sheer rain curtain over entry into the pool. Also, a secondary freestanding deck across the pool matches the same material used on the deck and covered with another louvered roof pergola. Below that freestanding deck is the aluminum framing used as we wanted to make sure we had a lifetime product holding up that deck since it’s not accessible. We successfully worked through weather delays, all the tight access requirements, new lighting technology and products we have never used. Two years of planning have gone into this year long build and through literal blood, sweat and tears we completed this epic build. This family now has a backyard that gives them the ultimate enjoyment and a place for family and friends to enjoy.

Perched high on a mountainside, this breathtaking deck reimagines a previously unused flat roof, transforming it into a luxurious outdoor haven. Initially, the homeowners envisioned the deck in a different location, but I proposed moving it to this elevated spot, where it now commands panoramic 360-degree views of majestic mountains and the vibrant downtown skyline.
We rebuilt and expanded the master deck, choosing sleek Deckorators ALX cable railing to maintain unobstructed sightlines and fully immerse the homeowners in their stunning surroundings. The design echoes the home’s modern, curvy architecture, and we even broke a world record by bending Deckorators decking to an unprecedented 2-foot radius, pushing the limits of modern craftsmanship.
Waterproofed with Trex RainEscape for year-round durability, the deck also boasts three Bromic gas heaters, making it an inviting space even in cooler months. The ceiling is finished with rich 2×6 tongue and groove (T&G) wood, adding warmth and texture to the design.
A custom spiral staircase with metal grating allows snow to pass through effortlessly, ensuring easy access all year long. This mountain-top oasis blends cutting-edge craftsmanship with nature’s beauty, creating the ultimate space for relaxation, entertaining, and soaking in unforgettable views.

Building this deck on a steep slope, reaching 40 feet from grade to the top of the roof, was a rewarding challenge that transformed the outdoor space into a lifestyle destination. The design features distinct areas for relaxation, dining, and entertaining, making it an extension of the home rather than just a functional deck. Multi-level platforms flow seamlessly into the surrounding landscape, enhancing both usability and stunning views.
I incorporated seating and a fire pit area to encourage gatherings with family and friends. The railings, equipped with hidden fasteners, not only prioritize safety but also contribute to the sleek, modern aesthetic. Every detail was meticulously planned, as even a small misalignment could compromise the entire structure.
Despite the challenges of digging 16 caissons with some having 30″x30″ footers for stability, I focused on creating a vibrant outdoor lifestyle. This project not only elevated the property but also showcased my commitment to quality craftsmanship and thoughtful design, resulting in a durable and inviting space that fosters connection and enjoyment.
