AZEK® Building Products Gives Back to National Forest Foundation to Honor Earth Day
A Leader in Premium Building Products Launches Campaign with Commitment to Sustainable Practices
SKOKIE, IL— Discovering earth-friendly finds makes consumers feel good about a purchase, and sometimes those products are in the most surprising places. With Earth Day approaching on April 22, AZEK® Building Products, a leading provider of premium decking, railing, trim, moulding, porch and pavers, is celebrating its year-round commitment to sustainability by supporting the National Forest Foundation. The goal – collect $5,000 to plant 5,000 trees.
During the month of April, AZEK Building Products will donate one dollar for every Facebook share it receives on special Earth Day posts. The objective is to reach up to 5,000 shares, or the equivalent of a $5,000 donation to the National Forest Foundation.
“We’re proud to practice sustainable methods in the making of our premium building products. We feel that supporting the National Forest Foundation in honor of Earth Day is the perfect way to give back to an organization we believe in,” said Julia Fitzgerald, CMO of AZEK Building Products. “Most people don’t realize that our engineered decking is a sustainable alternative to wood decks and saves more than 100,000 trees per year[1].”
This campaign reinforces AZEK Building Products commitment to reducing its carbon footprint through clean manufacturing. AZEK Building Products reduces the amount of waste sent to landfills every year, ships its products by rail to save thousands of gallons of fuel annually, and saves hundreds of gallons of water each day during manufacturing, with a uniquely designed, closed-loop water filtration system. Also, AZEK Building Products’ TimberTech® decks are made from up to 73 percent recycled material.
“Not only are our products made with recycled materials, they are also built to last,” Fitzgerald said. “On average, wood decks need to be replaced every 10 to 15 years2.
