GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., October 8, 2020 – Deckorators® has introduced Deckorators® TrailheadTM low-maintenance composite decking for the 2021 deck building season. The new wood-plastic composite (WPC) decking family is an entry-level composite offering incredible value including an industry-leading 25-year structural, 25-year stain-and-fade and 25-year removal-and-replacement limited warranty.
With an expected average retail price in the low $2-per-lineal-foot range (USD), Deckorators Trailhead composite decking offers not only affordability, ease of maintenance and peace of mind, but also a rugged, trend-setting appearance. Trailhead comes in Ridgeline (gray), Pathway (brown) and Canyon (red-brown) — three lightly streaked colors with natural, flat-grain embossing.
While many competitive warranties for entry-level composite decking include only structural and stain-and-fade coverage, Deckorators also backs Trailhead with its signature 25-year removal-and-replacement warranty. Unique to Deckorators, the 25-year removal-and-replacement warranty covers the labor costs to remove and replace the product if it fails due to a manufacturing issue.
The 7/8-inch-by-5½-inch Trailhead boards are available in 12-,16- and 20-foot solid and grooved-edge profiles and feature a shallow scalloped profile with four lobes. In addition to the warranty, competitive advantages include a highly compressed core, a durable, scratch-resistant polyethylene cap on three sides through the grooved edge, a 16-inch-on-center joist span, and compatibility with the Deckorators Pro Plug® fastening system.
Trailhead WPC composite decking is expected to be available in the U.S. and Canada in early January 2021. This includes the eastern U.S., where the Deckorators offering focused primarily on mineral-based composite (MBC) decking until now.
“As people spend more time at home and value their outdoor space more than ever, many homeowners are looking to trade up from wood to low-maintenance composite decking,” said Chris Camfferman, managing director of marketing at Deckorators. “Deckorators Trailhead WPC decking offers the affordability of wood without forfeiting the desirable features of our composite decking, like trend-setting aesthetics, low-maintenance durability, and a best-in-class warranty.
“We’re excited to offer a new composite decking option that gives homeowners a path to the perfect outdoor space in their own backyard.”

In addition to introducing Trailhead, Deckorators has also unveiled for 2021:
- New Silverwood (light gray) and Dunewood (medium brown) color options for Deckorators Vista WPC decking.
- A new 9¼-inch width and 21-foot length for premium Voyage MBC decking.
- 50-year structural warranty coverage for the MBC family of Voyage, Vault, Frontier, picture frame boards and porch flooring.
New color options for Vista WPC decking
Deckorators has added two new vertical-grain color options to the popular line of Vista WPC composite decking, which offers the appearance of exotic hardwoods without the maintenance. Silverwood (light gray) and Dunewood (medium brown) join Driftwood (gray) and Ironwood (brown) to give builders and their clients more color pairing possibilities.
All four Vista colors are available in varied widths of 3½ and 5½ inches to enable additional design creativity. The 3½-inch widths come in 20-foot solid-edge and grooved-edge profiles, while the 5½-inch widths are available in 12-, 16-, and 20-foot solid- and grooved-edge options.
Vista is backed by a 25-year structural, 25-year stain-and-fade, 25-year removal-and-replacement limited warranty.

New 9¼-inch width, 21-foot length for Voyage MBC decking
Deckorators has expanded the premium lineup of Deckorators Voyage mineral-based composite (MBC) decking to include a 9¼-inch varied-plank width. The addition to the Voyage family further increases design flexibility for contractors and homeowners who want to bring the interior design trend of mixing widths of hardwood flooring to outdoor living.
Voyage varied-plank decking is now available in widths of 3½, 5½, 7¼, and 9¼ inches and five vertical grain colors with the look of hardwood: Sierra (dark gray), Tundra (gray), Costa (golden brown), Mesa (red brown) and Khaya (true brown).
Compared to competitive multi-width decking options composed of PVC, Voyage varied-plank decking is made with patented MBC technology that is similar in weight, significantly stronger, allows less thermal movement and absorbs less moisture. Voyage also provides 34 percent or greater surface traction than other leading capped composites in both wet and dry conditions.
A new 21-foot board option is available in each width, providing builders and their clients more design choices. The 9¼- and 7¼-inch widths are available in a 21-foot single-side grooved option for designing borders and perimeters, while the 5½-inch and 3½-inch widths now offer a 21-foot solid edge option. (The popular Deckorators picture frame board in Dark Slate is also newly available in a 7¼-inch width featuring the single-side grooved profile.)

The already industry-leading warranty for Voyage, Vault, Frontier, picture frame boards and porch flooring is now a 50-year structural, 25-year stain-and-fade, 25-year removal-and-replacement limited warranty with additional coverage for water and ground contact.
