NADRA Atlanta Chapter Meeting Re-Cap

We opened up the New Year with our initial meeting held at the Ivey in Buckhead last Tuesday February 19th. It was a great turnout; we had 40 attendees and it was a very strong showing of our Deck Builder members. I want to thank Scott Sheppard and Dave Raught with Great Southern for sponsoring the meeting and for their presentation on Great Southern product offerings with a focus on the Timbertech line and a presentation by Chad Hall. Our Guest speaker for the evening was Tommy Howard, The President of the North Atlanta Residential Division of the Norton Agency. Tommy did a great job in presenting an overview of the Atlanta Housing Market and worked his presentation around 5 things that we need to know for the upcoming year. It was very encouraging information and if all goes well it will benefit our members as we move through the year.
We started off the evening by holding an election for our new Board Position – The office of Treasurer. Mike Reasons of DeckSouth was elected to the position and we look forward to his input and involvement throughout the year. I also had an opportunity to present the Committee Chairs for the upcoming year; New Member – Greg Mizerak & Frank Pologruto / Marketing – Scott Sheppard and Bryan Miller / Deck for a Solider – David Tibbetts and Scott McCawley. There is a lot of work to be done and I appreciate these members taking a lead role in our chapter for 2013. We had “Five minutes with Frank” and then I had the chance to talk about the upcoming Home Show in March and NADRA Atlanta Chapter’s participation. Please contact Scott or Bryan if you can help us out during the show. We want to continue to put NADRA and its members in the public arena and do our best to educate the Atlanta buyer on why they should choose a NADRA member for their outdoor living projects. This show is a great way for us to accomplish this goal so please help if you can. The show dates are March 22nd– 24th at the Cobb Galleria Center.
Our next meeting will be held on April the 16th at the Ivey in Buckhead. I am hoping to put together a unique event. We are calling it “Speed Dating with Deck Builders”. There will be an opportunity for Vendors and Dealers to buy time slots so they can present their new product offering s for 2013 to the key Deck Builder members of our chapter. I have already received a commitment from ten of our Deck Builder members so it should be a very cost effective way to get your message out. I will be sending more details on this in the coming weeks. Thanks again for being a part of our Chapter and for all that each of you do to make us successful. If our first meeting is any indication then we should all have a very successful 2013.
